CHS & GSHS Mission Statements
Calaveras High School: The mission of Calaveras High School is to educate, empower, and inspire all students. We promote academic and personal growth, foster healthy interests, and develop resilient mindsets and self-efficacy, guiding all students to become ethical, global citizens.
Gold Strike High School: Bridge high school with postsecondary student endeavors to include Junior College, work and or other post-secondary career choices; Encourage and model moral, ethical, and responsible decision making by all; Entice students to be creative, imaginative, and open to forward thinking ideas, and solutions for the purpose of solving personal, local and world issues that affect their lives, family, community, and beyond; Make learning accessible for all students in all subject areas, so that a quality education can be attained by all students.
Vision Statements
Calaveras High School: To develop an engaging environment that fosters multiple paths to success and promotes a healthy social, emotional, and academic balance.
Gold Strike High School: Provide all students with the academic and social tools needed to become contributing members of society.

Originators and Innovators
Essential Characteristics: Students approach the world with intellectual curiosity; are proactive communicators and global innovators.
Essential Outcomes: Every student will be able to:
● demonstrate innovative and proactive problem-solving
● actively participate in shared communication for quality outcomes.
● display leadership, adaptability, and personal accountability in their commitment to
lifelong learning and future planning.
Critical Thinkers and Problem Solvers
Essential Characteristics: Students are critical thinkers who evaluate processes and outcomes objectively, active and productive members of student-initiated groups, and self-directed problem solvers.
Essential Outcomes: Every student will be able to:
● recall prior knowledge, and interpret given information to evaluate long and short-term
goals, and create plans to solve problems.
● resolve problems using different types of reasoning skills (inductive, deductive,
investigative, comparison, analysis).
● formulate conclusions, analyze results, and reflect on the process used for
determining the final outcome.
Collaborators and Communicators
Essential Characteristics: Students are skillful at using a variety of tools and ideas to effectively communicate and collaborate with respect and integrity.
Essential Outcomes: Every student will be able to:
● demonstrate proficient articulation of ideas using oral, written, and non-verbal
communication in both personal and community endeavors.
● collaborate effectively and respectfully in diverse environments while valuing
individual contributions.
● use technology and networking tools to access, manage, integrate, evaluate, and
synthesize information to successfully function in a knowledge-based economy.
