Cell Phone Policy
From the CHS/GSHS Handbook of Rights and Responsibilities , p. 15 (2024)
Cell phones/electronic devices (including earbuds) may only be used before school, during break and lunch, and after school. Cell phones/electronic devices must be put away and turned off during instructional time unless otherwise directed by a supervising staff member. Students who inappropriately use their cell phones/electronic devices will be expected to turn over their devices to school personnel. Students may not possess speakers that project personal music/voice on campus or the bus. All music must be listened to through earphones/earbuds. Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary consequences.
1st offense: Sent to the office and the teacher calls home.
2nd offense: Sent to the office and an administrator calls home. Parent/guardian must pick up the device
3rd offense: This will be considered defiance and is subject to further disciplinary action.
Calaveras/Gold Strike High Schools are not responsible for lost or stolen cell phones, electronic devices, or personal property.
